Virtual Visits with the New York Hall of Science

Students will get the chance to engage in activities that will help them learn why we see color, what are cone cells, what exactly is a blind spot, and answers to other questions that deal with our eyes. The culminating part of the program will show a live cow’s eye dissection, which will help the students see what the iris and retina really look like.

In this new Virtual Visit Unit, students will have the chance to learn about simple machines while being engaged with activities and seeing our outdoor science playground. Today’s new virtual visit unit will deal with the wonderful world of networks. Now the first word that usually comes to mind when hearing the word network is computers. This program discusses that and so much more. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the structure of networks, simple vs complex networks, and different benefits of using networks.
