Introducing the Albert Mach II

Monday, November 20th, 2006

I would be remiss if I did not introduce my robot friend, fellow instructer and Distance Learning mascot, Albert II!

Albert Mach I was our old videoconferencing cart from the NYHOS’ late 1990’s Virtual Visit program. Mach II is a Tandberg 880 MXP. It connect via IP, has a 4 hour mobile battery, has various media inputs and can connect via a wireless internet connection. This impressive guy can go anywhere here in the New York Hall of Science and allows us to bring classes and programming from any of our exhibits, including the outdoor Rocket Park!

In the coming posts I will expand on the powers of our edu-bot and extols the wonders I discover!
